Dallas is a city where tradition and avant-garde blend seamlessly. The Cowboys, Tex-Mex, and the State Fair of Texas maintain prevalence, while a blend of innovation in art, food, and music create a unique vibrancy. This makes the 214 a hub of non-stop entertainment and activities. If you are looking for a fun place to relax and enjoy a drink, then the burgeoning brewery scene is worth checking out. Below are five breweries we recommend.

1. Manhattan Project Beer Company

Situated near the Trinity Groves neighborhood, Manhattan Project Beer Company is a hidden gem of the Dallas brewery scene. Lauded for their sophisticated and relaxing atmosphere, they offer a wide selection of craft beers, including IPAs, stouts, and sours, along with fresh-made coffee and a scratch kitchen that sources ingredients from Happy Hollow Beef, a local cattle ranch. Every beer is developed through a meticulous, collaborative process, with their signature “Hoppenheimer” West Coast American IPA being worthy of its own Christopher Nolan biopic.

2. Westlake Brewing Company

Located in the lively neighborhood of Deep Ellum, Westlake Brewing Company is a fantastic spot to bring a group and saddle up for a day of fun. Though their selection offers a diverse array of flavors and styles, the Peter’s Porter, an English-style porter, which took home a gold medal at the 2021 Great American Beer Festival, would be a great one to start with. Their food menu is rife with tasty brewery classics that pair perfectly with a cold beer.

3. Four Corners Brewing Co.

Just a six-minute drive from Westlake, Four Corners Brewing Co. is another Deep Ellum neighborhood favorite. Surrounded by a spacious outdoor area, the taproom is located inside a building that used to be a carriage house. Their primary menu offers selections of every style to satisfy a beer snob, and their kitchen pumps out phenomenal street tacos and smash burgers. IPA lovers will enjoy the Chingon Super Series Rotator, featuring a new IPA every season.

4. Celestial Beerworks

Located in the Medical District, Celestial Beerworks is where intergalactic meets idiosyncratic, celebrating art, space, and science through their one-of-a-kind creations. A fun, inviting atmosphere with ample indoor and outdoor seating, they currently have 13 beers on tap. They have a special appreciation for IPAs, with their Odysseus Triple New England Hazy IPA being a standout. Their Cosmic Cantina food truck outside ensures nobody will leave hungry, and their convenient location next to a DART station makes them an ideal place to go before a Mavericks or Stars game.

5. Peticolas Brewing Company

Pioneers of the Dallas brewery scene, Peticolas Brewing Company has operated in the Design District since 2010. With numerous national and global awards, you cannot go wrong with any brew on tap. That being said, their Irish Red Ale “Irish Goodbye” just won an Irish Red Ale Silver Medal at the 2024 World Beer Cup, making it a terrific choice for any St. Patrick’s Day festivities. They host rotating food trucks, but guests are welcome to bring their own food. Their tri-level taproom features games, music, and TVs, which makes it hard to ever want to leave.
