While the excitement of the city can be intoxicating, sometimes a weekend immersed in nature can be a necessary detox. One of the best ways to experience the natural beauty beyond the city is through glamping. Serving as the perfect median for anyone who wants to experience the outdoors while maintaining a touch of luxury, glamping has ascended to the forefront of travel culture. Here are four of our favorite spots to go glamping outside of Dallas and Fort Worth.
1. The Range Vintage Trailer Resort
Located in Ennis, The Range is where timeless charm meets contemporary comfort. Surrounded by greenery and open fields, guests stay in repurposed vintage trailers equipped with all the necessary amenities. Each trailer has a propane grill, hammock, and private access to the extensive hiking trails that cover the private 30-acre plot. Outside of the trailers, guests have access to a swimming pool, bathhouse, fire pit, laundry machines, and lawn games.

2. Paradise Cove at Lake Grapevine
Tucked away on a private peninsula on the stunning Lake Grapevine, Paradise Cove is a slice of peace on the water. Guests can stay in a private yurt with a queen-sized bed, full-length sofa, private bathroom, and air conditioning and heat to ensure comfort in every season. Evenings spent roasting marshmallows over a private fire pit and gazing at the stars above the lake might inspire even the most devoted urbanite to relate to Gary Paulsen in ways they never imagined.
3. Domance Glamping
Situated in Van Zandt County, Domance (Short for Dome Romance) is the quintessential couple’s retreat. Surrounded by an abundance of trees and lush greenery, each dome is uniquely designed for comfort, romance, and privacy. Guests can choose between several creative dome options, including the “Honey Hive” tiny-home, which is North America’s first beehive-shaped glamping structure, and the “Star Lite” dome, which comes equipped with a rooftop observatory for star gazing. Every dome is fully equipped with queen or king sized beds, full service kitchens, smart TVs, bathrooms, showers, and hot tubs.
