Jeanie Buss, a minority owner of the Los Angeles Lakers, has purchased an oceanfront duplex in Playa del Rey, California. The transaction for the property located at 6935 and 6937 Trolleyway closed in mid-December for $4,227,500.

The property, commonly referred to as the Playa Beach House, consists of a duplex situated directly along the coastline. Its location provides immediate access to the beach and views of the Pacific Ocean. The home features large windows and open interior layouts designed to connect indoor living spaces with the surrounding outdoor environment.

Playa del Rey is a coastal neighborhood on the west side of Los Angeles known for its residential character and proximity to the ocean. The area borders the Marvin Braude Bike Trail, a multi-mile coastal path that runs along the shoreline and is frequently used by pedestrians and cyclists. The neighborhood has historically maintained a quieter atmosphere compared to other beachfront communities in the region.

The surrounding coastline includes wide sandy beaches and relatively calm waters, supporting recreational activities such as swimming and paddleboarding. Playa del Rey’s location places it within a short driving distance of dining, retail, and cultural destinations throughout Los Angeles, while remaining physically separated from denser urban development.

The purchase represents one of the more recent high-value residential transactions along the Playa del Rey waterfront, where limited inventory and coastal zoning restrictions contribute to the area’s distinct real estate profile.

The property was listed by Yvette Busot (Berkshire Hathaway) with Dena Luciano (Douglas Elliman) as co-listing agent; Meredith Schlosser (Berkshire Hathaway) represented the buyer.
