Modernism Week returns to Palm Springs February 12–22, bringing an 11-day calendar dedicated to midcentury modern architecture, interior design, art, landscape design, and vintage culture across the greater Palm Springs area. With hundreds of tours, programs, and events on the schedule, the festival remains one of the region’s signature draws for anyone who wants a closer look at the desert modernism that helped define Palm Springs and the contemporary design thinking it continues to inspire today.

What Is Modernism Week?

Modernism Week is a nonprofit organization focused on education, preservation, and appreciation of midcentury architecture and design as represented in the Palm Springs area. The February festival is its marquee moment, offering a mix of home and neighborhood tours, guided bus tours, talks and film programs, exhibitions, and evening social events that reflect both the design history and the lived-in lifestyle of the modernist era. A portion of ticket proceeds supports Modernism Week and related preservation and community efforts.

2026 Highlights

Modernism Week’s schedule is built around access—getting visitors inside iconic spaces and giving context to what they’re seeing. Architectural home tours and neighborhood-focused programming remain central, with opportunities to explore works associated with key desert modernist architects and the residential streetscapes that made Palm Springs an international design destination. The festival also balances the serious and the social: daytime tours and presentations paired with after-hours events.

One of the busiest draws each year is the Palm Springs Modernism Show, which returns as part of the festival lineup with 135 national and international dealers offering midcentury and modern design. The show includes an early buying preview on Friday, February 13, followed by public show days Saturday through Monday at the Palm Springs Convention Center.

Opening weekend energy starts early with Modernism Week’s Opening Night Party: Modernist Motown on Thursday, February 12, setting the tone with live music, cocktails, and the festival’s signature mix of design-forward dress and social momentum. Beyond that, expect a steady flow of talks, screenings, and themed programs—including films and presentations at the Annenberg Theater—along with shopping experiences and smaller, niche events.
