The 152nd Kentucky Derby will return on May 2 at Churchill Downs in Louisville. As one of America’s most recognizable sporting traditions and the first leg of the Triple Crown, the event will attract a global crowd drawn to both the racing and the traditions surrounding it.
Derby Week racing at Churchill Downs begins on April 25 and builds steadily toward the main event. The Friday before the Derby brings the Kentucky Oaks, a major race for three-year-old female thoroughbreds, and then attention turns fully to the Derby on May 2.
Ticket options range from general admission to premium hospitality experiences. Some spectators attend for the racing and the wagering, while others are there for the fashion and distinctive atmosphere associated with the event.

Few events bring together so much preparation, tradition, and social ritual in a single weekend. By the time the horses step onto the track on May 2, months of qualifying, shifting expectations, and Derby Week pageantry will have narrowed into one of the most closely watched races in American sport.
