Philadelphia, PA
The PGA Championship will return May 11–17, bringing one of golf’s four major championships to Aronimink Golf Club in Newtown Square. It will be the first time the event has been played at Aronimink since 1962, returning one of the Philadelphia region’s best-known clubs to the spotlight as attention on the area builds ahead of the United States’ 250th anniversary.
As one of the four men’s majors, the PGA Championship is played over four rounds of stroke play, with a field that combines many of the game’s top-ranked players, including Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy, with PGA Professionals who earn their places through the PGA of America. That structure has long helped define the event, giving it both star power and depth. The winner also takes home the Wanamaker Trophy, one of the sport’s most established prizes.
