Natural Beauty
Kansas has a diverse environment defined by some one-of-a-kind geological formations, massive plains of tall, grassy prairies, and flowing rivers that slice through its deep green landscapes.
There are several famed scenic destinations across Kansas. Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve is a protected environment with almost 11,000 acres of prairie that house bison and other incredible wildlife. Monument Rocks Natural Area contains huge geologic chalk formations dating back approximately 80 million years. Pillsbury Crossing is a natural limestone ledge that forms a beautiful waterfall. Originally used by the pioneers to cross Deep Creek, it is now a popular recreation area.

Affordability
Kansas is widely considered one of the more affordable states in the U.S. Its many significant, growing urban areas provide strong economic opportunities, but not at the expense of an affordable lifestyle.
Real estate data shows that even in Kansas’s biggest cities, there are homes that cost less than the national average. According to Redfin, in December 2022, the median sale price of a home in Wichita was $210,000. This is less than half of the national average. Meanwhile, in Overland Park, homes were significantly more expensive in December 2022, with a median sale price of $425,000, according to Redfin. But $425,000 is still substantially less than the median sale price of a home in other competitive real estate markets across the country.
