Festival Napa Valley stands as one of California’s most distinguished celebrations, seamlessly blending performing arts with the refined elegance of Napa Valley’s renowned wine country. This annual summer festival transforms the valley into a stage for exceptional musical performances, from classical orchestras to contemporary artists, all set against the backdrop of rolling vineyards and historic estates. Founded in 2006 by San Francisco Bay Area attorney and arts manager Richard Walker and IMG Artists Chairman Barrett Wissman, the festival emerged from the Russian National Orchestra’s annual summer residency in Northern California, establishing itself as a sophisticated cultural institution that attracts discerning audiences from around the globe.
The festival’s origins trace back to its commitment to accessibility and excellence, with the founding vision centered on creating meaningful cultural experiences that honor both artistic tradition and innovation. What began nearly two decades ago as an ambitious project to bring world-class performances to wine country has evolved into a celebration that features performances in venues ranging from historic wineries to purpose-built concert halls nestled among the vines, creating an unparalleled fusion of cultural sophistication and natural beauty.
