This fall marks the return of one of Dallas’s most celebrated architectural events. The 19th annual AIA Dallas Tour of Homes, presented by eggersmann Kitchens & Home Living, returns October 25-26. The featured residences span North Dallas, Far North Dallas, Northwest Dallas, the Urban Reserve, Turtle Creek, Preston Hollow, and Kessler Park/Oak Cliff. Each home tells a unique story of how contemporary living intersects with architectural innovation.
The lineup includes a modern hacienda complete with motor court, demonstrating how traditional forms can be reimagined for today’s lifestyle. A residence designed specifically for effortless entertaining and animal lovers reveals how personal passions can drive architectural decisions. Perhaps most intriguingly, visitors will discover a home with an inward-focused layout that celebrates cultural values through curated art, showing how architecture can serve as a canvas for personal expression.

Among the tour’s most compelling offerings is a net-zero-energy home that proves sustainability and refined design are not mutually exclusive. This residence demonstrates how environmental consciousness can be seamlessly integrated into sophisticated living spaces, offering visitors a glimpse into the future of responsible luxury. The home’s design philosophy centers on refined simplicity, showing that sustainable living need not compromise on elegance or comfort.
The tour also features a meticulously restored historic home that exemplifies the delicate balance between preservation and modern living. This residence serves as a masterclass in adaptive design, honoring architectural heritage while meeting contemporary needs. Such projects require exceptional skill and sensitivity, qualities that define Dallas’s most accomplished architects.

Event co-chairs Jarod Fancher, AIA, and Justin Leal, AIA, have assembled a collection that truly offers something for every design enthusiast. An upscale duplex showcases innovative approaches to urban density, while a contemporary glass-walled residence emphasizes barrier-free living, soaring glass walls, and multigenerational comfort.
The participating architecture firms represent the cream of Dallas design talent: Abeyta Architecture Studio, Atory LLC, A. Michael Architecture, Bentley Tibbs Architect, Laura Juarez Baggett Studio, Sarah Harper, Studio Park Architecture, and Tezanto. Each brings a distinct perspective to residential design, contributing to the tour’s rich architectural dialogue.
For those seeking a more intimate experience, the separately ticketed Premiere Party on October 23 offers exclusive access to a stunning Lakewood residence not included in the general tour. This Texas ranch-inspired estate, designed by Bentley Tibbs Architect, serves as an elite facility for dog training, grooming, and boarding, brilliantly combining luxury living with specialized function. The evening includes live music, passed hors d’oeuvres, an open bar, and conversations with tour architects, plus admission to the weekend tour.
The self-guided tour runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday, allowing visitors to explore at their own pace and focus on the homes that most capture their interest. Tickets, available at hometourdallas.com, are priced at $20 for a single home tour. Weekend passes are available for $55 through October 1st, increasing to $65 after that. VIP Premiere Party tickets are $150 and include weekend tour access.
