In the high desert landscape of Joshua Tree, a new residence at 3236 Sunever Road represents a departure from conventional development. As the first completed home in Panorama Valley’s six-residence enclave, this property reflects an infrastructure-first philosophy that emphasizes long-term planning.
What distinguishes this 2,700-square-foot residence from typical new construction in the region is not immediately visible. Before a single home was offered for sale, Panorama Valley secured water access and power across previously unserved land. That foundational investment, often deferred until after construction in desert developments, supports long-term viability and helps preserve the area’s open desert sightlines.

Crafted by Mark W. Daniels of MWDA, the home’s design is composed of low horizontal volumes resting quietly against the desert floor, framed in steel and finished in smooth Venetian stucco and concrete tones that mirror the surrounding terrain. Large steel-framed glass openings blur the boundary between interior and exterior, allowing desert skies and natural light to shape the home’s atmosphere throughout the day.

Inside, polished concrete floors, restrained detailing, and an open-plan great room prioritize volume and light. The custom kitchen, centered around a waterfall island with integrated appliances, maintains the home’s minimalist aesthetic. Each bedroom is oriented to capture open horizon views, while spa-inspired bathrooms incorporate clean lines and architectural windows that frame the surrounding landscape.

Retractable glass walls in the primary living areas extend the home’s living spaces into a protected courtyard anchored by a private pool and spa. A rooftop terrace is designed for sunset viewing, while a dedicated outdoor cinema invites evenings beneath the stars.

Positioned minutes from Joshua Tree National Park yet intentionally removed from density and light pollution, the nearly six-acre property is currently listed for $2.695 million. The property’s seller, Ewa Marais, president and co-founder of Baltic Sands Inc., served as the interior designer.
