The Valspar Championship is scheduled for March 16–22 at Innisbrook Resort’s Copperhead Course in Palm Harbor, placing PGA TOUR week back on the Tampa Bay calendar with a pair of anniversary markers: 25 years of PGA TOUR golf in the region and 50 years of pro golf events tied to Copperhead Charities’ local footprint.

Tournament rounds run Thursday through Sunday, March 19–22, after early-week practice days and pro-am programming that build toward the weekend finish. The setting is familiar to anyone who follows the Florida Swing: a tree-lined, par-71 course that plays long for its par and tends to reward placement over power, with water and angled approaches shaping decisions throughout the round.

The course’s finishing stretch known as the Snake Pit—holes 16 through 18—regularly compresses a leader’s margin because it demands three consecutive commitments: a narrow par 4, a demanding par 3, and a closing par 4 where a conservative line can keep a round intact and a small miss can flip position quickly. It’s a course that often feels calmer early in the day than it does late, when players are balancing scoreboard math against the penalty for forcing an angle that isn’t there.

The 2026 field is expected to include Viktor Hovland, the 2025 champion, returning to defend his title on a venue that often keeps the tournament within reach deep into Sunday. For spectators, the week is typically best approached as two different experiences: one visit early, when it’s easier to move with groups and see more of the property, and another later, when crowds gravitate toward the Snake Pit and the finishing holes.

For visitors building a long weekend around the tournament, Palm Harbor’s location makes it straightforward to pair a round day with a Gulf Coast itinerary—an early dinner after play, a quieter morning along the water, and then another pass through the grounds as the leaderboard tightens.
